The are a few pages that also have humans, as well as mercouples and merchildren. I love the variety!I was surprised that the book is a little smaller than standard size. This one is 8"×10".The sketch lines are thin, which I like for most mediums, but my alcohol based markers feather out. (They're also generic) The black backing does help with the bleed through, but i still use a buffer page as minimal ink can still bleed through.I didn't have any problems with my finelin. Really nice artwork I'm pretty big into coloring. I have an embarrassingly huge collection of coloring books, it's very nearly "fire hazard" huge. I feel fairly qualified to review these types of books, because I know what I like!The newest book added to my collection, is "Mermaid Life" from artist Nathaniel Wake. This is a very pretty book. I really enjoy the artwork inside, and there's plenty of it! This book is huge! Without looking up the stats, I'm guessing there are 50 imagesdescribed as "100% Original Designs" on the front cover.
