The Great Guthrie! If you are a guitarist, You already know Guthrie Govan. I won't revel in worship or undue adulation here. Besides, he is too down-to-Earth to enjoy such idolatry.The main thing is that He is THE MAN when it comes to high tech guitar technique AND ( as it turns out) he is a splendid teacher. Next to private lessons, this is the most affordable entrée into his fabulous guitar tricks and licks.. "Govan is the man (HEY that rhymed!)" according to Karl Barron. Seriously, this guy can do anything with a guitar. Not only one of the best players out today, but one of the best teachers. Guthrie Govan really gives you insight on some of his techniques, and it's up to you how/where to use them in your playing. Yet, I wouldn't recommend this book to a beginner or even the early-stage intermediate player. Some of the topics and techniques can get really gnarly, but there very effective for the guitarist who plays Govan is the man (HEY that rhymed!) Seriously, this guy can do anything with a guitar. I realize that I will need to make a special time each day to set and assimilate all the knowledge that is in book so that I do not miss the important things. I just discovered Guthrie Govan and I must say he is a fine musician. They say he has played guitar except for three years.
