Simply one of the best written series ever. Patrick Jones This review is for the entire book series, not just the Ender series since this is normally where everyone starts reading them. This is a series with a fascinating lore grounded in a realm of reality. While it is technically sci-fi a lot of times I forget that completely. The books are centered around the third Formic war and tell the stories (mainly about Ender) of the children raised and trained in a special command school and their exploits after the war is complete. I have to say though, of all the authors I. "Loved It - Though More Art of War Than Hunger Games" according to L. Erickson. Although I'm a fan of both sci-fi and YA dystopian lit, I had somehow never read this book. Based on what I had heard about it, I was expecting something more along the lines of Hunger Games. However, as I say in my review title, I think this is more Sun Tzu's Art of War than Hunger Games. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the book - I found it to be a real page-turner, and I truly grew to care for the main character Ender. It holds up both as a fun read and as thought-provoking literature. The sci-fi is more . rizaroza said Remember that boy who always killed bugs for no good reason??. This novel was incredibly difficult to put down. I decided to read Ender's Game because of all the great reviews. I don't believe in being genre specific, so I try my best to read a bit of everything; and I am glad I gave this YA Sci-Fi a try (yes, the rhyming was intentional). Ender's Game is rooted in a clichéd plotline (bug-like aliens have attempted an invasion, and earthlings must come together to fight this infestation from outer space. I'm starting to think Sci-Fi is more about our unfathomable hat
