A JP Fan Krista G My husband plays guitar and I am learning fiddle and ukulele. We are both huge John Prine fans. We used this book to duet on Paradise with my hubby taking the lead. It was pretty easy to pick up the melody on the violin from the standard music notation. The guitar chords are above the staff and the lyrics are easy to read. Currently we are working on Angel from Montgomery (my lead). We do have to transpose the songs into our range, but having the words, notes, and chords all in one place is nice to have. I wis. BlackOPS said Just what you need if you like John Prine.. Good Prine book! Contains Grand staff music and chords. Excellent all-around music book.. "The notes are clear and easy to read and basic enough for a beginner" according to Gary Ratcliffe. I'm learning to play the fiddle, and I've been working on Paradise. The notes are clear and easy to read and basic enough for a beginner.
