Even though the book says on the cover that the book is for dads, the bulk of the book talks about creating a good marriage while dealing with the stress of a special . Derryl Acosta said Entertainment and practical advice all in one. I wish he wrote this book 10 years earlier so I could have avoided all the uncertainty and nonsense I went through with my own IEP team. My child has special needs, although different than the author's children. The book is loaded with practical advice for how to handle teachers, administrators, and specialists. Unlike most books though, this one is written by someone who relates to me, the dad, who doesn't have a clinical degree. It's infused with hilarious stories any man can relate to while at the same time helping you through the process of getting your child the he. Happy to be initiated into "the club." I have five kids of my own but none with special needs. I read this book mainly because I was curious and for some reason I read the last chapter first and learned about "the club." Side story: there was a kid in our neighborhood who really annoyed me. He was always barging into our home, pestering my son almost to the point of bullying. I really couldn't stand this kid until I read this book and it finally dawned on me that this neighborhood kid had some issues that probably only his family knew about.
