DESCRIPTION:
Give it to your mother, your grandmother, your aunt. “Motherhood is a hoot!! Beginning with the first story of Dwayne receiving a phone call from his meddling mother and continuing on and onis close look at motherhood is poignant while hilarious. And hey, Mothers, give it to your children so they can walk in your shoes! The perfect gift!” Book Vault
"Not my favorite - Might work for you, though!" according to Amazon Customer. I love Garrison Keillor's stories and have most of his cds. Since the name is "Mother", I was expecting warm, cozy stories about childhood, mothers and apple pies - but they are a little more harsh than that. It's more directed towards older people whose mother's drive them absolutely crazy. I wouldn't get it for my mom for Mother's Day, though - unless she has a REALLY good sense of humor!. Not Worth Having I love the show. I am a loyal fan but this whole series is poorly edited with barely average sound quality.Sent them all back. Just not worth it and a big disappointment. Turn on the radio.. Motherhood I love everything Garrison Keillor puts out. I have now close to 30 audio cd's by Keillor. Maybe it helps if u r Scandinavian, born Lutheran and loves stories.
Collected from live radio broadcasts of A Prairie Home Companion, these humorous and heart-warming stories and songs celebrate the ups and downs of motherhood. Includes the News from Lake Wobegon, and guest appearances from Robin and Linda Williams, Inga Swearingen, Vern Sutton, Prudence Johnson, the Rankin Family, and more. She brought you forth out of the cloud of genetics and fed and clothed you and taught you to wipe yourself and say Please and Thank You and never expected you to pay her back, only that you behave appropriately and try to make something of yourself and not land in prison but if you had, she'd love you because after all she's your Mother. -Garrison Keillor
