NIKON SPEEDLIGHT "DIGITAL FIELD GUIDE" BY BENJAMIN EDWARDS I'M A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER AND I HAVE TO SAY THE NIKON "CREATIVE LIGHTING /DIGITAL FIELD GUIDE" BY BENJAMIN EDWARDS IS A 5 STAR MANUAL/ PAPERBACK!! I NEEDED GUIDENCE AND HELP ON ALL OF MY 2-NEW NIKON SB910 FLASH UNITS/ UMBRELLA LIGHTING AND POCKET WIZARD MINI TT1/ TT5 FLEX UNITS THAT I JUST PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2013. I SHOOT A LOT OF OUTDOOR PORTRAITS AND MY D800 CAMERA JUST WILL NOT WORK OUTDOORS. I WENT TO COLLEGE AND I STILL HAD TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING THE NIKON MANUALS. A GOOD QUOTE FROM THE "DIGITAL FIELD GUIDE" STATES THAT "CAMERA MANUALS ARE A G. "very informative if you buy new equipment every year or two. (IOW, more about marketing than information.)" according to Jane Harper. Like most of the Field Guide series, this one covers the ins and outs of the Nikon Creative Lighting System in its most current iterations. However, there was minimal information about legacy equipment (SB-600, SB-800) and NO information about the capabilities of older camera bodies with either legacy or new equipment. I have a D300 and a D200 with two SB-600s, an SB-800 and a new used SB-900 and I learned nothing about how to make them all play nicely together, except that I need to drop another $700 for Pocket Wizard triggers. If I were from Nikon, I wou. 00 and a D200 with two SB-600s, an SB-800 and a new used SB-900 and I learned nothing about how to make them all play nicely together, except that I need to drop another $700 for Pocket Wizard triggers. If I were from Nikon, I wou. "Handy resource for the newer Nikon Speedlights (SB-700 & SB-900)" according to Dgreath. Book has lots of useful info for using your Nikon Speedlights. The third edition focuses on the newer 700 and 900 strobes. If you have 600s and 800s, you'll really want the Second Edition. Both books will get you up to speed on how to best use your speedlights in both the field and studio.

It s a good read and the techniques are simply explained and well-illustrated. (Advanced Photographer, June 2012)
