DESCRIPTION:
Five Stars exactly what I wanted. "My sister loved it" according to Gina Nuccio. This was her era and she loved it. She is crazy about Carole King and many others who were highlighted in the book.. Interesting read for anyone who enjoys hearing the "behind the scenes" kind of thing. Lorin I listened to this on audio and thoroughly enjoyed it as it gave a lot of information about each female rocker (some more than others) about their lifestyle back then, including good things and. not so good things Whoever the british lady is who read the book for the audio made it more interesting too, as she was not a monotone, boring reader like some audiobook readers I listened to in the past.
This audiobook profiles the hottest rock 'n roll women, spanning the 1960s to current times - from Janis Joplin, Suzi Quatro and Chrissie Hynde to Courtney Love and Pink. Through personal heartaches, drug addictions, public humiliations and private nightmares, these rock chicks have risen to take the music world by storm often facing great personal adversity - pressure and scrutiny that would have destroyed mere mortals.. With perceptive biographies and in-depth music critiques, author Alison Stieven-Taylor gives an up-close and personal look at the experiences, adventures, and musical passions of these extraordinary and talented women whose wild vocals and on-stage antics have made them rock 'n roll legends
