Most of the books I've seen are learning to play are a bit intimidating or they are for children. This book starts from the start, and builds little by little. Very well done, and you can't beat the price! I've ordered the intermediate and advanced from this author for when I get there.. T. Diamond said Good for beginners, especially pairs/groups. I love the easy duets that are included in this title. Playing with a friend becomes much more interesting sounding when one of you can learn the harmony. My teacher uses this as a complement to the Suzuki viola book. There is some overlap in the songs, but very few.
