"Loved it" according to Snifhvide. India is a self assured young woman on a mission to save her cousin / surrogate mother, who has disappeared whilst travelling the world. She blames the agency that arranged the travel for the disappearance, and especially the man she thinks is behind it all, Derek Saunters. The agency is in fact owned by his great aunt and 2 of her friends and to protect theirs and the agency's reputation, he decides to locate the missing lady himself. India doesn't trust him and decides to follow him to Paris to keep an eye on him. Derek. Derek and India are the start of a wonderful new series & A truly great book on it's own. India is the very, very proper secretary who is always right and correct. Not a foot out of bounds. But now she is looking for her 'lost' relative. In walks the very not proper but trying to be good far too handsome Derek.I really loved how they really didn't care for or trust one another. Mix that with 3 adventurous ladies,a sweet couple to chaperone, a devilish & devilishly good looking step brother, delightful mother and step father, and Paris to search makes for a treat of a book. Loved. You know a book is good when you're gifted an ARC and you still buy a copy!! I just finished The Lady Traveler's Guide and I'm eternally grateful that Victoria Alexander is back to writing full length novels! The book was well paced and I loved India and Derek's banter. Plus, the twist with Heloise was well done and while it was hinted at, it wasn't blatantly obvious. I was lucky enough to be reading a digital ARC, so there were some funny format issues, but they were fixed in the copy I bought from Amazon. All and all, I think this is a great start to a series and I hope that next is Val's book!!
