The characters are intelligent and real. I felt pulled back in time. The story is so creative - not your typical fluffy love story. But there is love and hate and well just read it! Jamie Harrison's mystery series was one of the best in contemporary mystery history and in this novel she's moved onto a higher plane of literature, while keeping the suspense of her crime series. Her writing is wonderful. Though the book starts a bit slowly, let her prose roll over you. Soon you will understand the character as the plot builds. Bravo! I am so glad you are back, Jamie!.
