Great for designs What's on the cover is what's inside, or get a better peek at the Kindle sample. I'm reviewing the book only (which is what the product listing is for) as I found that most of the old stuff sold by Dover that includes a CD has low quality scans. I can do them better myself and unless it's Dover Pictura which has vector files I suggest you do the same.That said the line drawings in this book are very good. The shading is provided mostly by little dots which you can either ignore or edit out with inexpensive or free image editing programs. If you want the actual shape of the flower as a starting point this is the . Nice artist resource This was a great resource for learning a ton of new flower designs. This has plenty of flowers to choose from. It does not include step-by-step designs, but I knew that going in. This is excellent for giving a budding artist (like me) the basic lines to review and reproduce.. Great Reference Book I love flowers. Unfortunately I can't grow them (I have a black thumb instead of a green one!) so they are difficult for me to study. This book has a nice selection of different types of flowers, and the art style is both very simple and lovely. For me, it's not difficult to learn from the designs. If you're a new artist, this might not be the best book for you; there are no step by step illustrations. Overall, really happy with it!
