DESCRIPTION:

"Good Book About Learning the Basics" according to Melissa Nobbs. This is a good book for someone looking to get started in fabric design. It covers all the basics for both digital design and hand printing. It includes a lot of questions and answers from popular fabric designers. It is well organized and has great pictures. Different types of fabric and dyes are also discussed. I would have liked to have seen more info about approaching fabric manufacturers and how to go about getting your designs. Great for beginners and designers I'm not a trained designer but I've been wanting to create my own fabrics. This book inspired me and gave great instruction on how I can get started without being an expert. The amount of information and tutorials is just right, I feel like I aced a Fabric Design 101 course!. "OK" according to HarL. I was looking for a book that described fabric design and repetitive design by hand - not computer. I had thought this would be it, but it got barely a mention. Would be good for someone doing this by computer. Simple explanations are helpful.
