This was recommended by a friend Pattie I gave up on Danielle Steel a few years ago all novels had the same pitch, and it became not enjoyable to read her, after, reading many many of her books This was recommended by a friend, who could not put it down That's what I like to hear about a book I was totally into it as well, and will try Ms Steel another time.. She showed us the love of a mother/daughter relationship I would give it a hundred stars, if possible! I think Ms Steel out did herself in the writing of this book. She showed us the love of a mother/daughter relationship, husband/wife, woman/country, and all of this in the first half of the book. This we did a complete turn and she was pursuing a career in medicine while she was risking her life in the battlegrounds in Europe. There are no words to describe the emotional roller coaster she took us on from there. Truly, this ranks close to the top of her list with me. A book I could hardly put down until I finished it..
