It has lots of great exercises, definitely a great way to learn. This book is incorporated with a CD, but it doesn't come with it. I truly think everyone should not only get the book but also the CD, specially when learning the drum fills, timely is everything, the CD really really helps.. Great for teaching the basics Aiden I'm learning the drums and this is a great book that teaches the basics. It is pretty dated by look and the pictures inside but the informatikn is solid.. Super great book Open Your Eyes I picked up drumming again after about 30 years doing other things. Honestly, I could not find a lot of options so I don't know if there is something better.But I am very happy with this. The first half is rock and the second half jazz. I am a rock drummer only so I cannot attest to the second half, but the first is very fun, and seems sensible. The exercises are well thought out in
