This is a good book for an adolescent who wants to understand how younger children develop, interact, learn, and process. The author dilutes the field of child development into an age-appropriate and camp-relevant guide. I'd recommend that camp staff purchase this book for counselors or utilize some of the activities in their training.. I will be working at a residential camp this summer, and found it very interesting. As part of my training as a counselor, we have to complete online courses before camp starts. Imagine my surprise when one of the courses was based off of this book! I had purchased this book a couple of weeks before my online training started so it felt good being ahead of the game. As my dad would say, "I already knew what time it was."
