DESCRIPTION:

Kris Bjornsen has come a long way since alien slave ships scooped her up in Denver with thousands of others. As the Eosi overlords continue to drop captives on Botany, the colonists learn that there are freedom fighters on every captured world, and Earth is full of pockets of resistance. There are even rebels among the warlike Catteni. But she feels a soldier's duty to escape Botany and rejoin the struggle for freedom. Dropped of an apparently uninhabited world with the rest, she has fallen in love with Zainal, a renegade Catteni, and made a comfortable life for herself and her new family. Now the colonists have the technology they need to go back to war with the deadly Eosi - with a surprise strike at the enslaved planet Earth itself!

They are living very well with many comforts of home and they are at the brink of ending the Eosi domination of several species and many planets and Kris Bjornson and Zainal are at the center of things. Making a good life on Botany isn't enough for Zainal though. He intends to destroy the Eosi for enslaving his people for two thousand years and for enslaving other worlds as well. However, the final piece of the plan will only work at great sacrifice to himself. Wil. Gardener Dawn said Third book in series. Freedom's Challenge is the third book in this intriguing science fiction series, by Anne McCaffrey. As in the first two novels the story mainly evolves around Kristin Bjornsen (human) and Zanial (catteni) and a growing population of alien dissidents who refuse to bow down to the Eosi domination of their species. With Botany now under the protection of a bubble shield, along with three ships they freed from the catteni, the dissidents have gained a small amount of freedom for themselves. But now the Eosi are wise to the problem that Botany has become to them and take steps to put an end to all involve. Actingtheatrecat said Fabulous story combined with wonderful audio acting!. This review is strictly for the audio books as most people will read the books first and then buy the audio book as a supplement. I first bought the Freedom series on cassette tapes (yes, I AM that old) and just fell in love with the acting of the two performers; Susie Breck and Dick Hill. They are just absolutely stunning with their vocal talents and help bring Anne McCaffrey's stories to brilliant life. I love audio books. They help pass the time when travelling long-distance in my car, make the walk with the dog not so boring, and help me survive traffic without resorting to road-rage.As anyone wh

This third installment of a series that includes Freedom's Landing (LJ 4/15/95) and Freedom's Choice (LJ 5/15/97) chronicles the stages of the war for liberation, from the theft of Catteni ships to the liberation of cargoes of slave laborers to a bold strike at the heart of the oppressor. From Library Journal Abandoned on the planet Botany by their Catteni masters, a group of humans and other enslaved races now seeks to reclaim their worlds for themselves. Despite an occasional lapse in suspense, her latest novel provides a satisfying culmination to a saga of desperate courage and the desire for freedom. Most libraries should add this to their sf collections. Copyright 1998 Reed Business Information, Inc. . McCaffrey excels as a storyteller and as a creator of worlds
