The hundreds of drawings give an idea of the many iterations of creatures and conflicts, and the lavish and plentiful photograp. "An excellent companion" according to mgordo. I'm one of those who believes that del Toro wrote a fairy tale wrapped inside a war, and not a frightened child's descent into dissociative madness.We're lucky to have this reference written in English. It is a good companion to the Spanish language book pub. K. Clark said Outstanding, comprehensive book!. This is a richly detailed, highly curated, and wholly fascinating. It's well-written.
