A portrait of progressive politics. This book gives a great insight not only into the life and campaign of Bernie Sanders but also into the current political state of America. It could not be more relevant than at this time. So much of what Sanders describes points towards the importance of personal involvement in politics. Many years ago as a young person, I was a Republican because my parents and their parents were Republicans & came from Missouri to California via Illinois. As I became a young adult I switched to a Democrat because I began questioning the beliefs I grew up with. What's wrong with integration or blacks for that matter. Being a girl in the 60's I was totally against the double standard. How did that happen and when? Now being a senior and on social security and medicare, my husband and I live in fear of those benefits being .
