I've bought and studied This particular course appears to need review and revision by Pimsleur Bruce Hinson I've bought and studied 4 other Basic Pimsleur European language audio courses and could discern and imitate the native sounds just fine in spite of a partial hearing loss. (I only wear hearing aids sometimes, not always, but they don't help with my learning French a la Pimsleur.)But, this French! Oy vay! It's so hard to know what so many of the sounds are, which is precisely what sets French apart from other European languages. I got into an involved back-and-forth with Pimsleur customer service in a futile attempt to get the script. No way. They claim they don't even have one. I guess it's important to understand what the product is and what you're getting yourself into when you buy it. Pimsleur is an all-audio language learning program based upon listening, speaking, and repeating. I guess it all depends on how you learn best and how you like to learn. I personally am an aural (hearing) learner. I also think listening is key to learning and developing a new language.I have actually studied French off and on or years and I decided to purchase this course as a refresher. My vocabulary is decent right now, and I guess you could say I . Good CDs/ Bad customer support A. Bullock I bought these CDs to use in the car to help me with my French before traveling to France. The phrases I learned were very helpful. Being alone in the car allowed me to practice as many times as it took to feel comfortable enough to order at a restaurant and ask for directions. But there are some phrases that I have questions about. I sent an email to the company online and never heard back from them. That was disappointing. I paid for their product and they couldn't even respond to an email. Disappointing.
