This Ship is a Winner Amazon Customer This story is less than great--it had some twists that didn't make much sense to me. The writing was generally pretty good--there weren't many proofing errors--and the story proceeded at a good tempo. I liked it, though, primarily because of a moral dilemma I see a lot in real life, but which seems to be addressed in fiction only rarely. A satisfying beginning to a trilogy. David J. Rumbaugh It's a little dark. It's a little suspenseful. It's kind of fast paced. There is one twist that comes as a surprise. The writing is average. It attempts to weave a kind of political maneuvering into the story. Corruption in high places, turncoats, spies struggle with the flawed but, well-intentioned protagonists. Character development is slow, by memories and inference. Once they begin to flesh out the story becomes more involved for the reader. So far, there isn't any overt sexual language. It's more all. This book is awesome! I actually usually take my time to read Amazon Customer Being a fan of scifi space battles, I was kinda worried this might fall into that same ol rut most space military books often do.BOY was I wrong!!!
