When The Bowery Boys released "Adventures in Old New York," the only real question was whether this first book could live up to their widely acclaimed podcast on New York City history. No worries; it does on every count."Adventures in Old New York" is a history book-tourist guide hybrid that's something I haven't seen before. Dividing Manhattan into neighborhoods from New York Harbor at the tip of the island to Washington Heights and Inwood at the top, authors Greg Young and Tom Meyers illuminate each. "Great Fun, But DON'T Get the Kindle Version!" according to Timothy Sommer. A very exciting and unique book, but I'd strongly recommend against getting it via Kindle. There are some (very) significant quirks/errors in the Kindle transfer that often make it extremely difficult to read the text and see the pictures (the text is often placed over the pictures, making both the text largely unreadable and the pictures hard to see). I also found it a little frustrating that the authors often bring up very fascinating points and tell wonderful stories, but they then fail to "follow .
