DESCRIPTION:
As a raconteur, Jennings is by turns self-deprecating and self-indulgent, but never less than entertaining, and almost always charming. The narration reads as if Jennings is relating stories over a beer. It is a big, beautiful book with so many stories and such an interesting picture of the music business. There are several pictures in the book that always make it more interesting for me because you can see the changes over the years. This book is total raw honesty and at times broke my heart. Waylon's habits made his life rough and his family had to have be. "If you love country music like I do this book is a" according to E. Paton. If you love country music like I do this book is a must read. Not only is it an insight to the artist who in my opinion has one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard but he also gives an insight into the country music business (and some rock and roll also) in the 1950s and 1960s and beyond that also. I put off reading it because I was thinking autobiography=boring. Usually I pick fiction to read but this one breaks all those stereotpyes. Definitely wo
