I’m guessing that like me, many readers would like to know how to make life better! Will Gretchen Rubin, our author, deliver on her promise? For some people, a qualified yes. They will see themselves and others well described in this book and think about things they might do to be more effective in accomplishing their goals and objectives at home and at work.Gretchen begins her book with. There will always be a market for people who claim to understand people Jerry Saperstein I tired of this book within the first few chapters.Others may find it enthralling to the very last page. It’s reasonably well written and the idea of there being four primary classifications into which people can be placed is as old as the hills – and therein lies the problem for me. I think nearly all humans go through a phase, if not their entire life, wondering if they’re the square peg in the round hole or everyone else is. Having read some of Ms Rubins' previous work, I'm not surprised that this book didn't teach me anything I didn't already know about myself. I'm an Obliger - the traits of an Obliger per the book are things I'm well aware of within myself, and I'm aware of what it would take to change myself. Unfortunately, I'm also OCPD and change does not come easily to me. I found nothing in The Four Tendencies to help with that aspect of being an Obliger.
