I began reading with no true expectations of what was about to unfold in the plot. It is hard to care about a character when you come to not like that character. I loved the father and his ideals but really did not care for the main character at. "A haunting story of self-examination and opportunities lost overlaid on a tragic historical backdrop." according to Chip Hunter. Unquestionably well-written and emotionally impactful, THE KITE RUNNER deserved the heaps of praise that it received.
