I take great pride in having been a part of the Warner Bros. (Tribute)Ever wish you could sneak into Warner Brothers backlot and learn the studio’s secrets? Studio lot functions as a small city and is even more fascinating, glamorous, and outrageous than any of the stars or movies that it has been routinely minting for more than ninety years. Movie studios are the wondrous, almost magical locales where not just films, but legends, are created. Long home to the world’s biggest stars and most memorable films and television shows, the Warner Bros. Unfortunately, these celebrity playgrounds are, and always have been, largely hidden from public view. Although some movie studios offer tours, few guests from outside the Hollywood community have ever been witness to the artistry, politics, and scandals that routinely go on behind the soundstage walls and away from the carefully orchestrated scenes visible to them from their tram carts. In this book, studio staff historian and Hollywood insider Steven Bingen throws open Hollywood’s iron gates and takes you inside the greatest and yet most mysterious movie studio of them all: Warner Bros. Accompanied by stunning behind-the-scenes photos and maps, and including a revealing backstory, this book is your ticket to a previously veiled Hollywood paradise.
"I really enjoyed this book" according to Nich Anthony. I really enjoyed this book. The photos, and other images, are crystal clear and the text is very informative. Not as comprehensive as the "MGM Backlot" book, (what is!) but in its own way, an equal. A great addition to my film book library.Thank you Steven!. A Unique Book I am not going to beat this review to death. I read the author's other book on MGM which essentially told the story of the backlots at METRO GOLDWYN MAYER which had been sold off for real estate development in the early 1970's. This book is very similar and offers one advantage; most of the Warner backlot still exists save for the construction of studio facilities and some tweaking of the outdoor sets. I have taken the Warner Studio Tour many times over the years and have sat through narratives de. Kindle Customer said The Last Great Backlot History!. Having had a chance to tour the lot in the late 70's because my relative leased editing equipment to the major studios I was fascinated with the history of it all. It is truly the last true movie back lot left. MGM's was sold off during the start of the Kerkorian reign (what a loss) and Twentieth Century Fox's was lost. So much cinematic history remains at Warner's lot. If you are a big movie buff this book is just a treasure trove of interesting facts and photos.
