What he found will surprise you as police give a candid look at how their jobs have changed and become more dang
A well written text on a complex sbject. The issue of confrontation between the police and the black community is a major problem in this country. Understanding both sides is a necessary step to resolving a problem that has deep roots. Taking a side and blaming the other is easy and requires very little thought. In this book Pegues presents both sides, both perspectives, and the frustration felt by all. Having interviewed several police chiefs, black leaders, and politicians, he lays out in great detail the problems facing communities. Through their eyes, Pegues gives a rational approach to solving the problem. As a white male, I found this quite an eye opener. Especially regar. Racism suck on all levels and it is brought about by the same hatred & different reasons that cost many cops their own lives Rick This book gave a fair view from all sides of this issueI personally found the first hand experiences by some blacks mentioned in this book to be terrible and unacceptable in any civil societyIf I was looking at it from their view, knowing all the challenges and abuses blacks have face throughout history to current times; I have to believe I would be claiming the same atrocities when it comes to living here in the USA as an African American. Sadly, they are not the only race targeted but, they also have many in these races that target law enforcement based on the actions of a few. This mentality makes no sense because they are going out. "An excellent Read" according to Stephen M. An excellent book by Jeff Pegues! Very enlightening regarding comments by police union officials, Chiefs of Police and cops. Highly recommended to read the perspective of law enforcement officials and the statistics presented. A real eye opener! It will give you something to think about for some time.
