Disappointing vs. rest of series lifewontwait I found this book disappointing compared to the rest of the series. The regular characters are all interesting and likable, but they get short shrift, with no real development, just basic info about them repeated from the previous books. There wasn't much interaction between Kate and Thomasetti, either. It wasn't hard to figure out the killer's identity, which is not usually the case in this series.Maybe the author was rushing to meet a deadline,. Alan Crickett said Not my favorite book.. I look forward to these books I have read them all I love all the main characters.this book seems like it was rushed I like when the book I love about the characters then the story. I still i'm glad the Brooke it's always like seeing old friends but it just came up a little short I want the story to be about Kate and the Tomassetti character. If you're a fan of the series I would recommend it but all by itself with no history it wouldn't be the b. Crazy Cat Lady said ANOTHER WINNER!. Linda Castillo has done it again. I was eagerly awaiting the latest Kate Burkholder mystery and I was not disappointed.I have read the series in order and have loved each one.The only problem is I will have to wait a year for the next book! Thank you, Linda, for this riveting series. The writing is beautiful and the characters seem like family. Kate is the best police chief ever!
