Heartbreakingly beautiful Cheryl Christians This -- I find myself at a loss for words. There are moments throughout the book in which I would grow terribly impatient with the various characters. Still, I couldn't stop reading. I was drawn in to each of their lives and came to appreciate each of these very real, very flawed, oh so human people. I laughed and cried (mostly cried) as the story was told. I imagine that the experience varies depending on how/where you were raised. Raised in a Lebanese family, and for a big portion of time in Lebanon, most of the references, relationship dynamics, and emotional experiences hit home for me, maki.
