every parent should read/listen to this book Kay Dee This was recommended to me by a professional. It is really excellent. I have taken many parenting courses, been taught quite a few parenting methods. This doesn't discount them, but provides a richer context for applying things such as active listening and play therapy in ways that work better as supplements to the non-defensive parenting described in this book. These tools are designed to mitigate or eliminate power struggles which arise inevitably at almost any age between children and parents.
