Following a unique format, Pete Sortwell weaves a tale through a community of individuals seemingly qualify as the "village idiot". After finding the initial connections between reviews to unveil the characters, I found this book to be hysterically funny! The bit that brings the most surprise is that the products listed are linked to actual products available (at least at the time of my reading the book). Being a light read makes this book easy to sit down and read a large chunk in a single sitting. If you divide this up into smaller sections you will miss the larger story and not fin. From the description of this book I initially got the impression that the book was a goof on Amazon reviewers and some of those odd reviews. Sorry, the book is actually so much more and so much better.The product reviews could just as well be diary entries or letters to the editor or in some other form. What they end up being is a series of interrelated stories and bits that, when read together, create a funny and affectionate portrait of an endearingly odd village.
