DESCRIPTION:
From drones to satellites, missile defense systems to cyber warfare, Israel is leading the world when it comes to new technology being deployed on the modern battlefield. How did Israel do it? And what are the military and geopolitical implications of these developments? These are some of the key questions Yaakov Katz and Amir Bohbot address. While other countries begin to prepare for these challenges, they are looking to Israel - and specifically its weapons - for guidance. The Weapon Wizards shows how this tiny nation of 8,000,000 learned to adapt to the changes in warfare and in the defense industry and become the new prototype of a 21st century superpower, not in size, but rather in innovation and efficiency - and as a result of its long war experience. Drawing on a vast amount of research, and unparalleled access to the Israeli defense establishment, this book is a report directly from the front lines.. Israel is, in effect, a laboratory for the rest of the world. Sitting on the front lines of how wars are fought in the 21st century, Israel has developed in its arms trade new weapons and retrofitted old ones so they remain effective, relevant, and deadly on a constantly-changing battlefield
"How Israel became a weapons superpower" according to Mark O'Connor. How such a small country became a weapons superpower is an amazing story. This book describes how such a small state taught the world about drones, cyber security, and how to effectively fight urban wars and terrorists. It's a story of how this small nation surrounded by enemies for hundreds of miles exists in prosperity and security despite the threats it faces daily. It is a great book!!. WGE G'Dad said A pretty well written book on the amazing weapons and their back story that Israel has produced.. A fairly short book about the weapons systems that Israel has developed. For a small nation with a population less than the state of Georgia, USA. They have done some amazing things, beyond not getting wiped out. The author is proud of his country, and there's no harm in that. The iron dome, drones, tanks, nuclear weapons, satellites, and more. There is a lot to these systems. You get a hint of the politics that produced these weapons without getting bog. Very worth reading, every American concerned with defence should read it Newt Gingrich This is an intriguing and eye opening tour of the evolution of Israeli innovation and experimentation. The degree to which this tiny country is a super power and in cyber for example can match any other country in the world is much more understandable after reading this book
