That;s why he made a living writing gritty detective novels. The first paragraph of "Trouble" is worth the price of the book. Chandler's writing is dar, fast-paced, and full of surprises. For. Booze and Lip I've always enjoyed Raymond Chandler and some of his stories are better than others. This particular book is a collection of four short stories about Philip Marlowe. What is phenomenal about the stories is the use of slang. I thought I was up on all the usage for the period, but this just blew me away. The stories are fast paced si.
