Perf A very unique book about a life in a time when lives were being cut short.I would recommend it to anyone with an ounce of art appreciation or a love of whimsy; it's a graphic novel before anyone thought of that term.. "A strange and moving masterpiece" according to Shalom Freedman. I saw the pictures reproduced in this book in a special exhibition at the 'Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum' in Jerusalem. I was in the company of a professional artist who was astounded by the insightfulness, intelligence and even humor of Salomon's work. She tells a harrowing and tragic family story in this work.Thi. In her long career as an exhibition curator, she has focused on the many artists of classic modernism – from Paul Cézanne to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, from the Futurists to the painters of Die Brücke, and from Pierre Bonnard to Balthus.
