“Roberts always tells a good story that balances romance and suspense, but in this title, the narrative is deeper, the mystery is more layered, and with Alice, Roberts moves into another level of exploring physical and emotional trauma and the powerful balm of family and love. Roberts is moving into more complex and darker storytelling, to terrific effect.” --Kirkus Starred Review"With its take-no-guff heroine, who understands the importance of family and friends, and a compelling plot peppered with domestic details and composed of equal measures of spine-tingling suspense and sexy romance, this is quintessential Roberts."--Booklist Rave Review“What makes this novel most engaging is Roberts’s ability to

This path has already been heavily tread *sigh*This is a Nora Roberts, so of course I bought and read it—or tried to. Many people I’m sure do the same, and that’s why Roberts can afford to toss out this kind of crap. Brand recognition is priceless in marketing.Roberts wrote this story years ago, except it was titled Montana Sky, and it was so much better.Let me tell you what happened the first quarter—or “part” as Roberts likes to sect. Could not finish Amazon Customer Nora Roberts is my favorite author and I am shocked to find I just could not get through this book. The only character I could really connect with was Alice and her story is so dark it is overwhelming. I know very bad things happen every day, but I read to get away from everyday life for a while, I do not expect to end up sicken and depressed especially from a Nora book. This is my last Nora pre-purchase, I will read a sample befo. Carole Lake said Not Nora's Best. I usually love Nora Roberts, but this is not one of her best. The positive: as she always does, she created an intricately detailed world, with well-developed characters. Unfortunately it's one she's created before. The negative: it dragged on and on and on. And the predictable ending was hurried, poorly described, and improbable. Too many subplots not resolved, And, I'm sorry, but this is the last time I'm paying 1Not Nora's Best Carole Lake I usually love Nora Roberts, but this is not one of her best.
