There is quite a bit of practical advice on small-shop methods, which is n. like from 1870 - 1890 This is a reprint of a very old book. not much in it will apply to todays metals. if you are interested in the history of heat threating metals, like from 1870 - 1890, then this is the book for you. all others, save your money!. Disatisfied Ironman I found this book lacking in what I was looking for in a users guide. It lacks seriously in the Workshop Practice IMO.I was hoping for more practical data and instruction on how to achieve hardening and tempering for a less than controlled furnace environment for the more amateur user.
