First time reading this author's work. definitely NOT the last! bonnie binger This is my first time reading this authors' work, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll be looking forward to more!The story ran really smoothly, though I thought that the ending and resolution for Serena seemed rushed and anticlimactic. There was a lot of action and suspense leading up to the ending, but I felt like it lost steam and I missed out on a really good ending. I wanted to see(read) the action between Serena and Trent. Sweet western novella love story a must read. This is a very enjoyable sweet clean read by this new to me author. I found Serena and her son Nathan's plight after being cheated out of their home to be realistic and probably an unfortunate frequent occurrence in that time period. Jasper was a likeable hero, not wanting an arranged marriage to a woman he doesn't love but is being manipulated by his Mama to do just that. His attraction to new cook Serena Serena is frowned .
