Taking its cue from his New York Times column Abstract Sunday, this book covers Niemann’s entire career and showcases brilliant observations of contemporary life through sketches, travel journals, and popular newspaper features. The narrative guides readers through Christoph’s creative process, how he built his career, and how he overcomes the internal and external obstacles that creative people face—all presented with disarming wit and intellect. From award-winning artist and author Christoph Niemann comes a collection of witty illustrations and whimsical views on working creatively
J. Zimman said Reading for a Sunday Afternoon. This is a wonderful book -- part design exploration and part memoir. You'll find great pleasure in wallowing among its pages, admiring its clever design products and sincere (continuously yearning) process. I bought it as a gift for a design student, but, as it turned out, she got it slightly used. She loves the book!. James Nolan said Love his work. I learned about Christoph Niemann via the Netflix original series Abstract. Love his work. The book is a great conversation piece to have sitting on the coffee table for friends to browse through when visiting.. "Liked" according to sambistaSFcaUSA. Loved. Wish there were more of the daily "creative calisthenics". His Ted talk touches on much of the book, (worrying abt running out of creativity). Got this and his "Words" as a browse book for our step grandson to page through as he progresses from two y.o.: lots of unusual juxtapositions and cognitive stimulation in an art/ clever package.
