DESCRIPTION:
This combination of "how-to" and "swipe file" content make The Big Book of Decorative Borders a must-have reference for decorative painters, crafters, do-it-yourselfers and interior decorators. Also included are guidelines for blowing up patterns to the proportions needed for any size job, from decorative boxes to entire rooms!. It also provides hundreds of ideas that can be copied directly from the pages. Part of the problem is that decorative painters have trouble seeing that borders, just like any other design element such as a rose or a leaf, are "built" one brushstroke at a time in a repeating pattern. To date, no single book has shown decorative artists how to design and paint beautiful decorative borders and ornamentation. Readers will find more than 500 different border designs made out of dozens of different elements, including flowers, leaves, vines, scrolls, shells, lace, ribbons, bows, childr

Five Stars Great book. Every Border Desired If the border you want is not in this book, it probably does not exist. This book is great for painters, embroiderers, stamp carvers, anything that needs a repeating design. Goes on the craft reference shelf.. Love the book Collector Girl I just started a painting class and my teacher lent me her copy of this book. Its a great way for me to get a feel for drawing in an easy format (using graph paper and making repetitive patterns) Its a lot of fun, I'm happy with the results of my practicing, so I bought my own copy of the book!
