From Booklist *Starred Review* Elizabeth Fitch is tired of living her life by her mother’s strict rules. When it comes to flawlessly fusing high-stakes suspense with red-hot romance, Roberts is unrivaled, and her latest addictively readable novel is guaranteed to jangle readers’ nerves and keep them enthralled long past bedtime. HIGH-DEMAND BACKSTORY: The Witness is romance-legend Roberts’ 200th published novel (her first was Irish Thoroughbred, 1981). I enjoy her writing style, I love her characters, and I thought this was the best stand-alone novel that she has written in some time. I have to say, after the last couple stand alone books, I was taking Nora off my auto purchase for Hardbacks. Then I read the first chapter of this book from her when she emailed it to her fan club. Wow - I was hooked, went on Amazon and immediately pre ordered.I started the book last night and just could not put it down! I love love love this book. Liz/Abigail kind of reminds me of Bones. That analytical personality trying to deal with emotions. I really liked her, in fact I loved her.Brooks - wow! He is perfect and fantastic and well, typical Nora hero :). He is the easy talking easy going lean one with a sense of justice :. it has many qualities to recommend it. Certainly BOOK REVIEWThe Witness by Nora RobertsEven if it’s not quite beach weather, The Witness might qualify as beach reading. Often “beach reading” is used as a euphemism for lighter literary fare. I suppose this book could qualify -- it is definitely not War and Peace. However, it has many qualities to recommend it. Certainly, the characters are multi-dimensional and the storyline gripping. It is a coming-of-age tale where a young girl’s first attempt at independence has far reaching and life changing results. As the title indicates, Abigail Fitch is witness to a horrifying series of events. Her very existen
