About the Author Hal Foster (1892-1982) created Prince Valiant in 1937. Though remaining involved with the strip until his death in 1982, Foster handed the bulk of the scripting and art chores over to his longtime assistant, John Cullen Murphy, in 1971.

I know the new strip is done by a different artist, but it still cau. "I love these books" according to Tracy A. Pounders. Collected all of the original Fantagraphics re-pubs, starting with the original Issue 26 - they started in the middle then worked their way back up from 1. This new series of re-prints are very high quality, hard bound books. The colors are right (unlike the old Nostalgia Press versions) and they are just beautiful. This is the way to get them.
