A must for school staff! MichaelVA I purchased this book because I've started teaching as a substitute at my childs school. We have also completed the Loving our kids on Purpose series by Danny Silk, which is based on love and logic. My husband and I are currently reading through Parenting with Love & Logic. This book is full of practical advice for being a calm and loving teacher that sets good limits and also helps kids to be responsible for their own actions. I'm not one for a lot of anecdotal stories, I like concrete advice and suggestions and tips and this book is full of them and has really given me a new perspective on how t. It's a great philosophy that puts the consequences of behavior back on the students - the choices they make don't have to ruin your day AND it teaches real life responsibility. One negative with the Kindle version is the book relies on "sidebars" and inserted boxes which just don't seem to translate well on the Kindle, although some of that may be that I haven't fully adapted to that format. The content, however is rich and I find myself reading slowly with breaks so I can absorb the information. There is a good balance of theory and practice, and the theory is actually very logical.
