I avoid, as much as possible, spoilers in my reviews, so at the risk of repeating things I have said in previous reviews of this author's work, I can only say that it was deeply gratifying to find myself in a book that was a sort of sequel to two very different stories. History, mystery, and smarty-pantsery characters appeal to me, especially when there's a supernatural element to their story, and this story's mixture did not disappoint me.
