Shortly after she arrives, though, she receives a surprise visitor: Max Daniels. The Landrys have been captured, and she’ll be called to testify. The only person to see the shooter’s face, Ellie is suddenly at the center of a criminal investigation. Ellie heads home to Winston Falls, South Carolina, to attend her sister’s wedding. Ellie Sullivan has just completed her residency at a large urban hospital. Max vows to be Ellie’s shadow until the trial, and it isn’t long before sparks fly.. Agent Max Daniels takes over the Landry case. A no-nonsense lawman, he’s definitely not the ideal man
Nilana Zoraida said Long time Fan. It's a good thing I've been a long time fan of this author. Please, if this is the FIRST book you have read by Julie Garwood give it ANOTHER TRY!!!It lacked chemistry. It lacked a story line.It simply lacked. Even the conversations between the pair lacked the chemistry most of Garwood's characters have. I had to push myself through it. Usually I eat up her books in a few hours and am starving for more.I gave it one star mainly because I know she can and has done better. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Sorrr Miss Garwood. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Originally This is the second Julie Garwood book I've read. The first was the 1st book in her Scottish Laird's series which I rated a 1. This book is only slightly better as it did not require much research. I was hooked into buying it by the excerpt included in the first JG book I read. It sounded like a fast paced, better written, romantic drama. Boy was I wrong and I wish I could get my money back. The characters and premise were good and the story started out great but it dragged for most of the book. The story stalled when Elli. Review I always enjoy reading books by Julie Garwood. I really like her characters and the story evolves so that you are really involved. I am always looking for a good romantic suspense author and Julie Garwood fits that description in spades!!
